If you’re lucky enough to live in a home with central air conditioning, you probably use it to your benefit during the hot summer season. Everyone wants their home to be a cool, comfortable paradise compared to the suffocating heat of the outside air. So, most people set their thermostats to what they want their home’s temperature to be as soon as they walk through the door.
This can cost you hundreds each year, though, as your air conditioning unit will often be cooling your home while you’re away and not enjoying the benefits. How can a smart thermostat help?
Smart thermostats save energy with efficient temperature control
New smart thermostats connected to a central A/C system can begin to cool your home before you get there but not waste energy cooling a house during the hours you aren’t home!
Your new smart thermostat will also save you money when you hook it up to ConnectedSolutions, earning incentives through the Sponsors of Mass Save. Higher temperatures across the board mean that most people will be using energy at the same time. This can put a strain on the state’s energy system, but they have come up with a solution.
How does ConnectedSolutions save money?
ConnectedSolutions will adjust the temperature inside your home by only a few degrees during times of peak demand, and you’ll receive money back for your participation. Likely, you won’t even notice a difference. Once enrolled in the program, you’ll be notified of the times, dates, and hourly increments when the adjustments to your home’s temperature can happen.
