Mass save - neeeco

If you are a Massachusetts resident, then you have probably heard everyone talking about the new Mass Save® program. Whether you are a homeowner, landlord, renter, or small business owner, Mass Save® has ways for you to create a more comfortable home that saves you money now and in the long run. Plus, you’ll be saving the environment along the way.

How to Save Money with Mass Save

There are so many ways you can save money when participating in Mass Save®. If you are building a new home, there are rebates available, or if you are in a home you’ve loved for a long time, but that could use some updates, you can upgrade your heating or cooling system, your heat or fuel pump, or install new insulation to qualify for savings.

New Builds

Construction and renovation teams are eligible to earn incentives and rebates on new home builds, whether they are single-family homes or multifamily buildings. Several guidelines must be followed, but they are well worth the savings in building new homes that will help the environment and make for comfortable tenants.

New Appliances

Mass Save® offers rebates on new Energy Star appliances, as long as the purchases meet qualifying guidelines. You can upgrade your home with a new washing machine, dryer, advanced power strips, LED lightbulbs, smart thermostats, air conditioning units or dehumidifiers, and much more. All of these will save you money upfront with the Mass Save® rebates and save you in the long run by lowering your energy costs.

Energy Assessments

Mass Save® also offers free home energy assessments, done online or in-home, depending on the incentives you are hoping to receive. A qualified technician or representative will assess your home and give you a personalized report stating what you qualify for and the improvements that will best benefit you.

Internships

Mass Save® is even helping the employment market! They offer paid internships in the energy services sector, offering you valuable real-life experience in a trade that will only continue to boom in future years.

Renters

Renters aren’t out of luck, either! If you rent your house, you can participate in the online assessment, which will recommend the right programs for you. You will be able to buy certain appliances at a discount, such as thermostats and room air conditioners, which you can take with you when you move and will save you money now.

Income Eligibility Programs

There are also income eligibility programs that can allow for no-cost-to-you appliances and tools to save energy no matter where you live.

Basic Guidelines

The requirements for each incentive and rebate differ, but most of them require a home energy assessment, an information packet to be turned in by a certain date, and purchases to be made within a specific timeframe. Smaller appliances, such as LED bulbs and power strips, can simply be purchased at qualifying retailers after a quick online eligibility assessment. See the Mass Save® website for more information.

Once you begin the search for ways to make your home energy-efficient, you’ll see how easy it is to save money, live more comfortably, and help our planet.
