Most manufacturers provide cellulose insulation in at least two grades that are categorized by the fire retardant included in the insulation. The fire retardants are typically 1) a blend of ammonium sulfate and boric acid or 2) boric acid only (called “borate only”). Mass Save presently accepts both.
