All Mass Save CONTRACTORS are required to have contractor insurance:
- Provide contractor insurance per the coverage amount listed in the program participation agreement terms. The amount depends upon the work they perform within the program.
- Maintain insurance themselves for the full term of the contract.
- List each Mass Save Program sponsor as “additionally insured” on insurance certificates.
Following the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, insurance authorized companies are responsible for writing the insurance and issuing the policies.
It is not like only the Mass Save Contractors are the only ones burdened with the heavy insurance responsibility, as they should make sure they provide minimum coverage per the operations performed by any worker, subcontractor, or supplier, as listed in the program’s participation agreements.
