Central Heating Systems
Recommend heating systems’ replacement if any of these is true:
- The heating system is estimated to be over 15 years old
- The heating system is natural gas or propane with atmospheric venting
- Collect available age, make, model, and serial numbers
Central Cooling Systems
Recommend cooling system replacement if any of these is true:
- The cooling system is a minimum of 12 years old
- The cooling system is below SEER 10
- Collect available age, make, model, and serial numbers
Domestic Hot Water Systems (DHW)
Recommend domestic hot water system replacement if any of these is true:
- Water heating is given by a tankless coil in a boiler
- Water heating is given by an atmospherically vented water heater
- If water heating is given by an electric resistance water heater, suggest a heat pump water heater if applicable
The Energy Specialist should tell the customer about available rebates and the process for getting the sponsoring Program Administrator as soon as the system evaluations are completed.
